ARTFULLY HEALING THE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM
Paintings, mixed media, collage works.
I started painting as a child growing up in a creative, non-medical family. Most recently, I have studied since 2016 with Paola Paige, MFA (Tufts/SMFA, Studios without walls), and at the Woodstock School of Art.
I use acrylic paints/inks, oil sticks, modeling paste, encaustic and paper. I enjoy collage when I have a strong message I need to get across.
The fact that abstraction is nonrepresentational makes it easier to capture moods and ideas. I consider my paintings “emotional landscapes.”
My current goal is to incorporate making art into narrative medicine, I am currently a candidate in the Narrative Medicine CPA program at Columbia University. I am incorporating art as a reflective practice into wellness efforts.
I am exploring the overlap between creative expression and healing-centered engagement/trauma-informed care.
